Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher

Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher is really interesting. The thirteen recorded tapes recorded by Hannah

before she goes through her suicide is confusing me at this point. The main characters right now are Clay ,

Hannah. Clay to me is a nice person. Why were the tapes sent to him? Was he mean to her or she has

some nice things to say to him that she couldn't say in person? So far she expresses feelings about this nasty

list made up by a guy student who I feel was mean and this was made to hurt people. I would have

ignored the list. While Clay is listening to the tapes he make comments to himself of why she is doing this.

When will he hear his name pass her lips? Two dialog story is new to my reading experience.Hannah talks

about females and dissects them with her words.Do the rest of the past people who have received these

tapes actually care about the persons mentioned in the tapes? I am wondering what tape has Clay been

mentioned in. The map is a addition to the mystery. Clay seems determined to follow her marked map.

I would to. I am so inquisitive but, on the other hand, I really do not want to find out others' secrets.  I do

hope Clay will come across some one who has already heard the tapes. Will he keep listening to the tapes

if he does meet some one who has already listened to them?Hannah's attitude does not make me convinced

that she is planning her death. She is too calm. There is no hint so far in her recordings what she plans to do

with herself.

  1. This is an excellent post, Denise. You gave me some new ideas on the characters. Another one of your colleagues commented on Hannah's calm and composed behavior. It surprised me, too.

  2. I like your blog. It really intrigued me that you also seen that she was calm a little to calm. Makes you wonder if she is really dead or that she was really one sadistic girl that wanted to get back at everyone.
